Really, why would S3 bounce back in January?. If all is successful, their new product line will contribute to earnings 3Q98. Seems to me that one can easily wait until after 1Q98 conference call. GJ is going to get torn up at that time, if he is still around.

The book value argument only holds up if S3's new products are bought to market at reasonable margins and high volume. Until then, a good book value only means that the patient won't die, just bleed a little longer. Not short, just watching and waiting. Digital video is the ticket, not sure if S3 can execute...

Mark.

For a contrarian like myself, this thread is the best there is!!! I love to hear all the negative talk concerning the death of SIII....it represents a great buying opportunity. Since I am a day trader, I have had the delight of watching the order flow of SIII all day long for the past couple of days, most selling is in the 100 to 10,000 share range, THESE ARE NOT INSTITUTIONS! I have however, seen a number of 25K to 50K buys come through....can you say "Follow the smart money". For the record, I have BOUGHT 800 at 4 15/16, though I hope the stock goes lower from here so I can really load up. Classic as it gets for January effect, but keep up the negative posts boys, it makes for great entertainment.
