What little archaeology they really have, which is not much. There are purposes & reasons men create stories & myths,aggrandizing themselves, much like puffed up lizards, moths & certain birds & mammals. We see it all the time in Nature,we see it all the time with men. (average Iraelite/Hebrew in 600bc was a goat herder or a potter at best, even less chance he could read or write than a peasant in germany 12th century, Moses, Noah, Solomon, David ,Abraham as much fiction as Greek Hercules.)
