Somehow BOTH parties have become so polarized and far from the "average voter" that it is ruining the country. In CA, the GOP swung so far to the right to get nominated, that the Dems use it by voting for and giving money to the far right to get the GOP nomination in the primaries so their candidates win the general elections in land slides. I get in trouble when I tell my GOP friends that their far right positions have ruined the chances for the GOP in CA since it eliminates the moderates who could win elections. They've scaled it up nationally so the last election we had Romney.... many of us were left with no viable choice but to vote Libertarian in protest and get yelled at from both sides.
