Are you referring to the fact that banks are now being taken out at ~ 4.5 times Book, compared with ~ 2 years ago, when they were being taken out at ~ 2-2.5 times Book Value? If so, I'd noticed that too. And I agree with you that even the USA isn't operated on a totally "Free market" basis, and some of the good-ole-boy syndrome happens here as well, but I think it's the extent of the atrocities that is the painful difference between here and there. And this market (S&P 500) isn't cheap, in case we haven't noticed. Regards, Teri
