One of the best movies I saw many years ago that now kind of explains Russia and some of their mentality is Dr. Zhivago not only the passion but the selfish use of other people irrelevant to their own feelings and the terror instilled into other people with complete disregard of what we call human rights and human dignity. The video you posted properly reflects the exploitation of human beings by their own greedy powerful class. The deep sadness and despair with lack of hope overcome by sadness may also explain the reasons behind the frequent drunkenness and anger with certain individuals. For a tyrant the best solution to revive this depressing situation is to go to war, to tell the people how great is their leader and their country and instill in them stupid nationalism instead of creativity and willingness to create new things or contribute to society.
