Sure we forced it, but not what we wanted.

Kind of stupid right?

We already had Medicaid for the poor. If remember Obama was trying to break some record by the amount of legislation he could pass. He was comparing himself to FDR. There was no rush. The poor could have been covered for much less, a fraction of the cost the ACA has created.

If Obamanocare is a Republican plan, why are liberals all defending it?

We are the only western democracy in the world to not have universal health care. The US is one of the only countries that allow late term abortion - how come liberals aren't upset about that?

Of course, Obamacare isn't even universal health care ... the CBO says after 10 years there will still be tens of millions without health insurance, just like now.

"If someone tells you to go jump in the lake are you going to do it, too?"

American health care, prior to Obamacare, was indisputably the best in the world. Responsible for more than half of the entire world's innovation in medicine. The place where treatments for difficult diseases are the best that can be had anywhere in the world. Before Obamacare, at least.

So if you want to jump in the lake of single payer and watch as the quality of care in our system collapses (like it is already doing), then don't expect to take us with you without a fight.
