Theoretically, it's a necessary function What Wilson recognized is the nature of the beast, as a quasi private entity, it is subject to gross manipulation by deep pocketed capitalists, who will use it as much to line their own pockets as to regulate the currency A stabilizing function is necessary ..having it run by aperatchiks of some of the greediest capitalists on the planet may not be optimum A significant player in the current egregious wealth inequity, as a byproduct of "regulation"
