We'll have to disagree. Smaller government could mean smarter government. As you know I would slash the military by big BIG amounts if I was king for a day. But, yes some of the things that can be done more efficiently at the State or local area should be done by them. There is no way I am against taking care of the poor - but obviously the ranks of the poor are expanding while the cost continue to rise. If we break the bank koan dishing out different programs to the poor, we end up not helping them at all. Think demographics!
