Evolution is a closed story and a fact to the scientists of the world. Creationism only takes root among religious people. It is not a historical fact as recognized by any scientists, only to Bible literalists. This country was founded on religious Freedom, which means no religion should be imposed on anyone and it also means no religious teachings in public institutions. The minute we allow one religion to hold sway in public institutions, we open the door to other religions to do the same.

And here's my honest fear. I don't fear the Christian's teaching Creationism. My own kids were smart enough to decide for themselves that their belief in science and religion does not need to come into conflict. However, what I really fear is that you guys are opening the door to Islamic religion being taught in our schools alongside Creationism and other Christian beliefs. I really don't want some of the crazy Middle East thought processes like Sharia Law taking root in this country.

So be VERY careful what you wish for. Teaching anything religious in schools is a very slippery slope.
