The Asian turmoil and the rock fall prices on the general merchandise clearly indicate that we are in recession.

The Asian financial troubles are bring down their average annual income based on the U.S. currency. Some will lose and some will be benefited from this situation.

As far as x86 CPU demands in Fast East, Internet has become the number 1 compell reason that they have to buy a PC either at office or at home. With less income, people either prolong the purchase/upgrade the PC or tend to buy as low as they could get. IMHO, The Far East PC market is to undergo an unbelievable exposive grwoth in the next five years. However, they are not going to pay $100+ for Intel processors while NSM, AMD, IDT and others offer the CPU with the same functions at lower prices. The nightmare for Intel in Asian turmoil is that this area PC purchases will grow its competitors to unbearable extend.

NSM and AMD will come out as big winners after the dust is set.

"BTW, INTC has to buy shares, too, and they have the same motivation as CSCO does for talking it down from time to time -- knowing that it's a temporary buying opportunity for them that will have zero impact in the long run."

If you really believe they are deliberately talking the share price don so they can repurchase stock cheap, you ought to reconsider your investment. It's hard to believe in a company that would routinely and deliberately scr*w it own shareholders!
