John,

Do you or anyone else have definitive data on the "DOA rate" for the various producers? The link you provided gives one man's opinion. Although he appears knowledgeable, I would like to find some 'unbiased' (exists there such an animal?) corroborative data.

When we took the DELL tour, we saw a fairly comprehensive program of quality control, beginning with a computer asessment of compatibility and inherent conflicts of the desired software and hardware components. It continued during assembly with testing of the hardware after installation, followed by a 'burn-in' period after software installation. Finally, finished orders ready for shipment were randomly checked for accuracy of software and hardware components and documentation.

Would appreciate any info you may have.

Thanx, 3.

John and all:

CSCO down big QCOM down big IBM starting to fall, not counting all the other high techs with some making 52 week lows, when will DELL take the plunge?
