I certainly understand how it is possible to be cynical about Jeb's statement about immigration given the Pub party's divided history on this issue. As to lack of detail it is important to remember, IMHO, that he has not said yet whether he will run or not--so I think it would be jumping the gun a bit to start offering concrete proposals at this point in time. Certainly if he does run there will be innumerous times to do so in the debates and elsewhere. As for optimism vs pessimism we get to pick, choose, whether the glass is half full or half empty. If we want to get out of bed in the morning and get with a program it's easier to do so, IMHO, if one views as the glass filling up. (Borrowing this idea from a column in your favorite paper--yesterday's WSJ). Anyway, I'm not saying you're wrong about your observations about J B., but until more evidence is in I choose to believe his statements on their face. Peace
