Ukraine has many minorities and culturally quite diverse in a way similar to today Romania. As a reminder 2/3 of Bukovina was taken by Stalin as was over 1/2 of Moldova an at the time integrated into Ukraine.

Today 1/2 of Bukovina is still Ukraine, Therefore, your remark is pointless as it is "splitting hairs" they are from a Slavic origin which was composed of several tribes that the Kiev Rus subjugated them and later the Poles

One thing is sure they are not Russians by todays Kremlin definition and some call them Ruthenians and for the Kremlin brass they are Ukrainians.

I can sympathise with your disdain of "Ukrainians" but first please define who the Ukrainians are by your definition.

In same way can you define a "true blood" American - after all the ethnic groups within "America" are very diverse and it is common practice to call an US citizen like me or you "American" and you are from Odessa Ukraine and myself from Banat in Romania

So I forget your unnecessary remark which was uncalled for and missed the point I tried to make.

The Kremlin brass is faced with a shrinking economy, or even recession, growing dissatisfaction within Russia population embroiled in very high corruption off officials at all levels and the Kremlin brass is scared to death that the outcome will be similar to that what happen to Yanukovich and his criminal team.

In Donetsk Oblast as in Mikolaev Oblast I could not start a project in 2007, without paying bribes which of course I refused, even that I was invited by the Rada and the Governor
