online checker doesn't recognize. Spellcheckers and online editors have changed the game. I don't pay too much attention to what I read online in terms of correctness. Most people don't bother to correct their mistakes and texting has changed spelling completely. Most successful writers employ an independent editor aside from the publisher's editor/proofreader, not for spelling and grammar (that comes with it), but for consistency, sequencing, plot, style, and especially pacing. You'd be surprised at how many writers mix the passive and active voice. Publishers check that first.
