I try to catch what I post here, knowing that YOU are reading it. :>)

I watch these 20 somethings thumbing away on their phones and am astounded at their dexterity.

I have started noticing the passive/active voice myself in books that I read. It does make a difference, doesn't it? Right now I'm reading a book that has a great story but has errors I never would have noticed before I had my own work edited. Passive/active, misplaced pronouns, abruptly changing point of view, who's-this-new-character? you-already-said-that, typos, spelling errors, missed spaces, too many spaces--the whole gamut.

Now that I've come to compare writing with writing, I can really tell the difference between good and bad.

I'm a bit confused about types of editors. What is a 'copy editor?'
