Hop , thanks for youre polite and informative response ,,,I will think twice before I ever post on the message board again. It is obvious that the board is not for investors who are not totally familiar with networking but rather for engineers and Bay employees exclusively. I know you dont have the time or inclination to help a lowly non technical shareholder understand adaptive networking...I will continue to read the board and hope that I can learn from some of the less strident....I have faith in House but am not blinded by the light of the "true believer"....
George

Hi Hop: In reviewing this thread, I came to the conclusion that you are a Techie. I need to understand the technology to better understand my investment and so I would appreciate your response to my layman's questionnaire.
a: Does Bay have an open architecture in its product line or do their
products usually serve a system upgrade mkt.
b: What is the difference between an Adaptive Router and an IP switch.
c: Are not Routers/Hubs giving way to IP switches at the Enterprise,
ISP and Telco's.
d: CSCO's R&D is reputed to be working on a 60GBPS router, will Bay
have anything to match that.
e: What percentage of total techie man hours are spent with ISP's,Enterprises and Telco's .
