Richard,

I think you may be overestimating the knowledge and power of the institutions. You the got the press releases in the morning. There was a plenty of time to sell in 55-56 range if you wanted to. People just evaluated the situation differently.

Joe

Richard, think you're giving the "institutions" way too much credit. They are as capable of making poor decisions (or good decisions) as any individual. Fear/greed steamrollers 'them' as well as 'us'. We are clearly in a panic sell market now and it's no fun at all. I ain't heading for the exit and I ain't saying it's over. As a pretty generally held bit of wisdom however, think it's fair to say that if either an individual or an institution is selling when everybody's selling (or the reverse), then you're much less likely to win the poker game no matter the make-up of the buyer/seller. My thoughts on a real bummer of a day. Best, Mike Doyle
