Should I use "next time banksters must be lined up against the wall and shot" in my signature? -g- These are all rate/currency swaps, zero for zero, so no VAR in sight. That includes gold. Of course, if one of the rates or currencies misbihaves, such as gofo spike down to -5% due to severe shortage or a currency debacle, the derivative boyz will be in for a rough ride, their zero VAR going "WTF just happened?" Just as Jesse finally writes about gold backwardation today, it is starting to go away a little. I wonder if that difference of gofo from zero matters. Seems to matter only the other way - when gofo is positive, gold is trashed.
