Thanks Paul,

Even though I don't always like what you have to say, because it will probably cost me money if you are correct, I like the information you are providing. I may make bad investment decisions at times, but don't want to do it because of lack of proper information.

"We have different opinions, I believe as to the valuation of the stock in relation to projected earnings. I think it is almost a certainty that earnings will decline and growth rates will decline in the next two quarters."

At this time I don't agree with this, but don't claim to have any special insight either. I assume you feel this way because of the world wide economic situation and the low priced processor market. Are there other reasons also? I always reserve the right to learn more and change my opinion.

Regarding the Asian enema we are all undergoing, except you lucky shorts....I don't know that much about it and have little spare time to read any more than I already do. Why does this need to be cataclysmic as you seem to feel it will be? We survived the S&L crisis which cost maybe $500 B, and now its hardly talked about. Why does this current problem need to go so deep?

"Of course I'm not going to short the stock below 70 or Paul Engel might claim vindication!"

If you shorted below 70 and made money, it would be hard to pick on you for that.

You don't seem that thrilled with Merced if I remember correctly. Why is that? I think you mentioned an IBM 64 bit arch. Merced is one of the main reasons I am overweighted on Intel. Can you convince me it's not going to be a winner and the way of the future?

Isn't merced also the method of transitioning to 64 IA and away from X86?

If this happens successfully, won't that make it that much harder for AMD and Cyrix...since they will have less money to develop competing processors and AMD may have trouble getting to the .18 micron size to make a chip with that many transistors? (this is one reason I think the current price competition is good for intel long term, weakens the competition much, much more then them....Generals go into battle and the one with the larger force agrees to fight and take high casualities cause he has twice the men...ugly and bloody, but the big guy does win, and then owns the hill, or the market)

The information you have posted the past several days is very much appreciated. I don't mind your differing opinion at all, just hate that you are right and it is costing me money <g>.
