Actually I worked for Hughes RADAR Systems International under a contract to the US Air Force. While I had military orders and an armed forces ID card I was not a "real gs-14" government employee.

But the point is our government did then and does now run a deficit to pay for all it's "job creation" it's not a sustainable plan for long.

The best thing the government did for Hughes was allow them to sell an ASARS2 RADAR system to other countries. That created jobs for Americans without US taxpayer expense.

Shrinking the size and scope of government and regulations would do more to create jobs than giving billions to political friends to make solar panels and then go out of business after wasting all the money.

Besides - national security is the primary job of our government. When dipshit politicians like obama talk about job creation they mean money to insulate homes for their pet project global warming or cash for clunkers - yet that was a complete failure and waste of money and it's temporary - it's not a new self sustaining and growing business.
