Typical right wing nonsense.

<<
bilow: Hi koan; A fully democratic country where benefits are passed out by the government is a temporary thing. The founders of the US knew this and made our federal government weak to guard against it. (And the states did stuff like requiring voters to own property which has the effect of reducing the number of people in favor of looting.) Because of this wisdom, our republic has lasted over 200 years.>>

koan: The founders of the US had slaves. So if they were so wise then by logic they had to be immoral for having slaves, and if they didn't know what they were doing was wrong, then they were not wise. By todays standards anyway. So we had to change things.

You cannot have it both ways dude. Can you grasp the logic there????

We lasted so long because we did have very wise men (for their time period) guarding the country for many decades; and pure ass luck.

And the founding fathers could never have envisaged modern social science, or morality any more than they could envisage women voting or integration. None of that was thought of categorically until the 20th century.

The father of modern social science being the great Max Weber.

The rest you just pulled out of your ass.

More right wing nonsense:

<<
Bilow: "The European democracies are very young but their governments were designed to allow as much power as possible to the leaders. This is the natural choice when the people designing the government structure expect to be in control. And so they've set themselves up for the same thing that eventually happens to all democracies. You can see the cracks starting to form and yes, Denmark is involved.>>

koan: "Nonsense they are democratic countries like ours and their politics ebbs and flows like ours. There was no design by people with the afterthought you mention.

You just made that up.

Bilow:<<When the government doesn't have quite enough money to pay everyone's bills, the next natural step is to reduce the number of mouths you have to feed. And so you get rid of the foreigners. This is the first step in a path that eventually leads to a Nazi dictatorship:>>

More nonsense: We are a rich country and can afford to feed everyone easily if we just tax the plutocrats at a fair rate.

You right wingers are so paranoid. We are a democracy and are not going to devolve into Nazism for the reasons you portend. We are enduring rule by a plutocratic oligarchy and need to take back control from them.
