The obvious question that must be asked, and has no politics involved is why so many founding fathers owned slaves? Jefferson and Washington had tons of slaves.

Washingtons's wife bought him a slave for his birthday. And it is told he did not want to give them up even at his death.

Jefferson was OK with giving them up then. Great guy huh-lol? He'll let them go when he dies-lol.

So either they knew it was wrong to have slaves and were immoral, OR they were not very fucking smart-lol!

Even in those days, how hard was it to know slavery is an obomination?

So why do you right wingers want to do every thing the founding fathers told us to do-lol??

Some did, others didn't. Adams didn't and thought slavery was an atrocity.

However, there was general agreement that if they tackled the slavery issue there would be no Constitution.

That was wise to the extreme. They recognized fully that the slavery issue would have to be addressed at a later date.
