Re: Alpine Air Express Inc. (APNX)

Were you able to quantify what that hidden value was (an undervalued asset like real estate, an un discovered service market, an important large customer)?

Alpine Air Express, Inc., through its subsidiary, Alpine Aviation, Inc., engages in the air cargo business. It transports mail packages and other time-sensitive cargo to 19 cities in the western portion of the mainland United States; and provides contract cargo charter flights for other carriers and public. The company also offers maintenance service on aircraft owned or operated by third parties; involves in the leasing of passenger aircraft; and operates a first officer training program. It operates 23 aircrafts
I always like to go back and review what I may have over looked and/or what the acquiring company saw as "valuable" so in the future I might recognize the same thing.

Your instincts were initially correct but your timing was just off.

From my first take, anything in the airline industry is a non starter for me since historically these companies never make money. FWIW, my very first investment was in PSA (in the 70's) but later sold at a small loss.
