People are usually wrong about climate. Lately they seem to be wrong in terms of "oops, we were too optimistic"- but I'm hoping there may be some compensatory systems we don't really understand. It's possible there are not, and it's even possible there may be systems that produce a waterfall effect- and that things will go much more swiftly than we think, once positive feedback systems kick in- but I would like to hope that maybe things aren't as bad as the worst predictions say they are. And I console myself with this- even if things ARE as bad as the worst case scenario, the Earth abides. It will do fine with or without us.
