Yes, but my impression was that the parents called the police due to the videos. Why didn't they call a therapist? Of course, maybe they did, but the kid is too old to be forced to go to one, and then they called the police. Didn't the police watch the videos? I watched a couple of minutes of one, it made me sick. But he wasn't the stereotype of a Hollywood "madman killer." Of course, none of those guys are--look at Gacy as one example. People loved the guy, he entertained at hospitals and other non-profits, was honored in civic groups, blah blah blah. Don't the police have profilers who can spot these guys based on things like those videos? Oh, nevermind, I'm sure you're right. He was on good behavior, a smart kid with manners and rich parents, the police are going to let that kind of kid slide.

The guy put his autobiography online, I skimmed the last part of it, and it's some pretty ugly stuff. Apparently this kid reached twenty without ever being kissed by a girl, which he wanted worse than anything. He saw some blacks and asians with relationships with white girls, and it drove him bonkers. mediaite.com

From Elliot Rodger's 141 pg. autobiography: Women should not have the right to choose who to mate and breed with. That decision should be made for them by rational men of intelligence. If women continue to have rights, they will only hinder the advancement of the human race by breeding with degenerate men and creating stupid, degenerate offspring. This will cause humanity to become even more depraved with each generation. Women have more power in human society than they deserve, all because of sex. There is no creature more evil and depraved than the human female. Women are like a plague. They don’t deserve to have any rights. Their wickedness must be contained in order prevent future generations from falling to degeneracy. Women are vicious, evil, barbaric animals, and they need to be treated as such.

To expect his mental health will be better when he gets released from prison is nuts. This was a tragedy of immense proportion before a gun was even touched. My understanding is that three people were knifed to death before he grabbed a gun. So even if every gun in the state was locked up - it was his mental issues that resulted in tragedy. Should we do something about loop holes in gun laws? Sure, but that issue we will never agree on and in a democracy all sides get their say. Work on the doable - mental health.
