As far as I know, it will not be case 1). At least one of their staff called me to make sure I sent in the proxy, so I am sure they want the meeting to go.

We don't need to be that skeptical, otherwise when the price goes back to $4, we may all rush to sell our stock which actually should worth $285 (someone made the valuation here a few days ago).

But, I am not familar with US Company laws, why we need such a high quorum? 6.5m/17.5m equal 37%, I cannot image IBM would have 37% shareholders attending the meeting or sending in proxy, am I wrong?

Also, if insufficient quorum, there is no meeting, your guys should only have a social gathering there and no vote should be carried out. Any other person attended the meeting would like to offer a clarification?

I believe a quorum is 50% plus 1. The problem seemed to be that many
shareholders didn't receive proxies in time to vote. This has been discussed here in detail.

Par stated he and Sharon voted their shares. No other large share holders commented on their votes that I heard.
