Thanks. That is a nice scholarly article as counter point. His counter point seems to be that this right was/is meant to be a right only when exercised in a collective manner, for a specific purpose, and in support of our government. I disagree. It is like saying freedom of speech is only applicable to a free press who supports the government, or only allowed with a government permit. The Bill of Rights was developed to protect individual natural rights which belong to people. * They were/are rights of individuals, protected by the constitution. * They were/are established to protect people from government tyranny. * They were/are not to be infringed upon by the government. To suggest these restrictions, imposed by the government, or that the government should decide when it is ok to exercise these rights is a complete corruption of intent.
