I live in this world. If I make it better, it will be better for me too. Right? If I don't care, and I let a generation of kids be lost, that's not good for me, or my own personal kids, who also live in this world. Plus, I genuinely enjoy what I do. If I didn't like it, I wouldn't do it. I like my students. They are better than dogs, even, because they don't crap on the floor or pee on the furniture, and rarely bark- and they can talk (sometimes). It would be a waste of my life to do something I didn't enjoy- but human connections are enjoyable for me- often. That's actually what motivates my thread management. If I enjoy people, even in some small way, I don't ban them- If they make me itch, I make them disappear. If you aren't running your life this way, why aren't you? That's not an eternal question- it's just a question.
