"it will be up to the states to take charge of the problem and the solution"

I'd like that solution to be applied pretty much across the board! The Feds have little business being involved in most of the things that they successfully mishandle. <G>

Accelerating annual growth for TSMC.... nice!

TSMC revenues down in May, but 2Q14 performance in line with expectations
Josephine Lien, Taipei; Steve Shen, DIGITIMES [Wednesday 11 June 2014]

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) has announced revenues of NT$60.79 billion (US$2.03 billion) for May, a decrease of 1.8% from the previous month but an increase of 17.4% from a year earlier. Accumulated revenues for the January-May period totaled NT$270.89 billion, increasing 15.5% from a year ago.

TSMC's June revenues are expected to drop slightly from May's, but second-quarter revenues will still be able to reach NT$180-183 billion as expected, according to an industry estimate.

A high base posted in April contributed to the slight sequential decline in revenues in May, said industry sources, adding that TSMC's second-quarter performance has been in line with expectations.

Products rolled out by its 28nm process are expected to account for 30% of TSMC's total sales in 2014, while the 20nm process technology is expected to contribute up to 20% to total revenues by year-end 2014, the sources noted.
