Right now, I would take this statement from the current administration with a grain of salt. Why would I believe this? It makes zero sense. He might be prevented from talking to his parents right now, or anyone else for that matter, until they can create a new distraction from this backfire and backlash. The old man being a Taliban sympathizer is not what Obama needs to see on TV right now.
