OT: Lost iPod

So far it sounds like you've done everything right and gone about as far as you can without going on an expensive trip to chase down your iPod.

Often I think it comes down to how much interest the police have in incidents like this.

spitsong, I'd go with the call the police option unless you have a really big dog and want to drive halfway across the country.

If you want to promote respect for other people's property and discourage thievery and the sale of stolen goods, you'll want to file a report with all the information you have and let the chips fall where they may. I would.

The person who bought it on eBay had a lot of nerve asking that you unlock your property so that he could participate in its theft. Show him what it's like to be interviewed by a police investigator. He'll learn all kinds of things about the legal system, even if he cooperates. Education is a wonderful thing!

As many have already said call the police and report the buyer and give them any info you have on Ebay as they can get the seller's info from them.

It's sad but long ago Ebay became on of the biggest fences in the Market.

You can also report the loss on your Home Insurance Policy and let them go after the thieves as well.

I do find it really ballsy that the person that bought your stolen product expected you to unlock it for their use.

Get this is more proof that there is little Morality in the world anymore.

Hope you get some satisfaction in this matter and the Police actual do something more say sorry.

Nice to see that find my stuff works and has some value which makes the ecosystem worthwhile.
