Ted,
They are very small cities; not major ones.
Fresno: 5th largest city in California, population 500K, 112 sq. mi.

Compton: Population 96K, in the heart of Los Angeles, very well-known for its black community and its rap and hip-hop music.

Both are major cities in California, Ted. It's silly to deny that just because some right-winger tells you that they are having financial problems.
