I have to say I'm with slacker here.

"Bashing" is a pejorative term that suggests prejudice.

Criticizing should be part of the discussion. Flaws in products affect perceptions and ultimately sales. Poor decisions by management should be on topic. Bad designs. Quality slack offs.

Basically this is a forum where we, ideally, should be objective about Apple's strategies and products.

Perfect objectivity is not going to happen. Also perfect moderation is not going to happen and anyone who expects it to be perfect is flawed...

: v )

Its a fine line between endless bickering and real discussion of course, but I don't think discussing possible future products and comparing them to current competitors is overboard... so far...

>> The endless Apple bashing is getting old no matter what the product released or not.

One man's bashing is another man's making a point.

Almost everyone here is pumping Apple, good or bad. You got one guy here who is raising points counter to that. Not bashing. Simply trying to point out there are two sides of the story. He is respectful. He avoids politics. He plays by the rules set out in the thread header.

You should change the header, so it says "We don't want dissenting views around here, and if you do it enough, we'll ask you to leave."

This is absolute childishness.

One more point then I'm out. I've been posting on message boards since long before the Internet was available for it and I've seen them come and go.

There is only one thing that will destroy a message board faster than a free-for-all, and that is heavy handed moderation. If a person is attacking another, fine. If a person is not abiding by the board rules, fine. If a person is causing trouble, fine.

But running someone off for saying what they believe is just chickenshit.
