Thean -- Are you being a little sensitive? You would let the offhand comments of one poster distress you enough to leave?

You have been lauded time and time again here with praise and thanks for your work. There is no doubt that 99% of the people here relish your participation and contributions.

I am disappointed in you for so readily throwing in the towel.

They can call me everything but a white boy and I ain't leavin'.

I hope you will reconsider, and be here with us for the glory which will be ours in the coming months.

Can I have an AMEN from the congregation?

your "brother in loss",

mike

I'm a relative newcomer, but find your posts have been extremely valuable. The effort you have taken to explain the nature of TA is really admirable. I certainly do hope you will reconsider -- the board is a better place with your presence.

Thean-

I think back over the hours (and it's a BUNCH of 'em!) I've
spent conversing with or just listening to a very interesting,
well-informed, and many times hilarious group of men and women
on this thread and my mind brings up Razor and Kenny and Tad...
who knows how many others...who (at least for now) don't
participate anymore and it's sad to think you'd join that
much-lamented group.

Hope reconsideration is at least a possibility.

If it isn't-----thanks for sharing!!

Lee

Thean, as one who has more questions than answers, I am grateful for your opinions. Thanks to you I feel I am at least able now to gather and evaluate information from charts, however I am nowhere near as proficient as I want to be. I for one hope you will continue to contribute on this thread, you have EARNED the respect of people posting here and anyone following you calls knows how accurate you have been.
Thanks RK

Thean...Don't let those comments offend you to the point of not sharing your knowledge with us on this board. Remember too that sometimes this medium does not always convey the true feelings of those behind the words posted here. I am one who values the written word, and know that inflections of speech are not easily communicated here, and in giving the benefit of the doubt to those posting..can be inferred by the recipient in a somewhat distorted manner. We do value your experience in this forum, and hope that you continue to contribute...
Also TO ALL, let's try to keep the postings to a more manageable level..not censoring any views or limiting perspectives, but just remembering that it's not easy to wade through so many postings!!

>When one has to answer charges rather than contributing ideas and viewpoints, the fun is gone.

Thean,

You are right. My observation during one year at SI has been that anyone such as yourself who makes any kind of meaningful, substantial and substantive contribution to a thread, and especially any contribution that is in any way controversial, invariably catches flak. Then you are put in the unfortunate postion of having to defend yourself, or look like a wimp.

Neither of those alternatives is appealing. To not defend oneself is unacceptable. Yet defending oneself is too time consuming. So perhaps the best thing to do is just what you are doing - either leave or cut back on your posting. Makes a lot of sense to me. In addition, you've got far too much talent, especially in the TA arena, to be wasting it here anyway.

Having said all that, I do hope you'll reconsider, and keep posting your opinions and ideas - especially on TA. But if you don't, I'll be the first to understand. No one likes to be boxed into an untenable corner.

Regards,

Ice

Thean, Tis the Season

Tis the Season to be Jolly, Fa la la la la, la la la la.

If you leave who wins you or him ????

If you believe what you have been saying is right, why should you be the one to give in ??

Everyone feels lousy about now, it has nothing to do with you, we all are suffering from the Asian Flu. We will recover very soon.

BTW, we are all big boys and girls here, perfectly capable of making our own investment decisions, if something goes wrong and he or she blames it on someone else than that person has a lot of maturing to go through.

Have a great Holiday Season, Talk to you soon !!!!!!!!!

Peace and Prosperity,

Dennis

i've been a reader and occasional
contributor to this thread for the
past few months.

i've been away for a few days to return
to over 250 new posts.

i must say reading those posts was a
complete and total waste of my precious time.

i believe since bry's arrival and theans departure,
this thread has deteriorated to uninsightful,
boring, contemptuous slamming.

take a look at theans post....

exchange2000.com

this is useful information we can all benefit by.
thean has contributed so much to this thread.
this was once the best thread on SI.
now its a bleeping joke.

and to quote Morrissey....

"that joke isn't funny anymore"

goodnight....paul.

Thean ... What more can be said? Please don't go!

Gosh, Thean, I felt I was just getting to know you. I have the utmost respect for you and your opinions. I find myself keying off your ideas which influence my buying and selling (I owe you, man ...)

Even more than the tech stuff, you seem like the kind of person I'd like to hang out with, go out to lunch and chat with, mull over ideas over coffee, etc.

I know all good things sooner or later break down ... at least on this planet, so if you feel you have to go, I understand. You've got a lot of friends here. Please reconsider.

To All: Consider the season and treat one another kindly. Let's be more aware of our tongues and our tone. It's a free country, a free thread (!) and everyone has a right to their opinion, whether it's Thean, Bry, scname, GD, Mike, on and on ... Diversity is cool!

Good luck all ... TS

Thean, do you think this is the post he is referring to when he made this statement? <<<Dec 2nd this tread was filled with negative emotion and
I told everyone, especially Thean that this is the time to buy..but his "charts" told him
differently

If so, HE is absolutely WRONG and needs to learn how to read past his own inflated ego. Your post gave us a better look at the BIG PICTURE. In the total context of the post showed me that we were in for some volatility for the next few weeks....which is exactly what is happening. You also called the bottoming in this post. You never said it wasn't time to buy. Anyone with a normal mind would have seen the perfectly, unbiased assessment you presented. The fact is, we could have gone LOWER at the time of the post and you mentioned that as a cautionary note.

His opinions on sector rotation are yet to be seen. He said to "look for it to start on 12/11/97." We'll see.

Thean you are invaluable to this thread. Don't sacrifice the interaction and communication with the "great contributors" over one lousy poster. Consider the source and look past the arrogance and don't feed him with a response.

Whatever your decision, I'm sure it will be respected and the best to you in all your investments. BUT PLEASE DON"T GO!! :)

I follow quite few stocks and sometimes have trouble finding the time and energy to respond and interact...so i just do the best I can.
I appreciate all the info that is shared here and wish everyone a Merry X-mas!

Regards,

John

IMO, daytraders are basically the only ones playing these stocks right now...that is why the volatility. Standard seasonal trading until the big boys begin the new year. Although, I wouldn't count out a Santa Claus Rally.

Thean:

I was gone for a few days and returned to find 498 new posts waiting to be read. Perhaps you have reconsidered your Saturday decision to leave the thread because some guy took issue with you. You ought to reconsider that decision, IMHO. I've enjoyed your posts and hope you will continue to share your opinions. Who cares if everyone does not agree or if you are proven wrong? BFD! mph
