The position we have had in Iraq, up to now, has been a democratic Iraq which played fair with religious factions. The first comments to come out (McCain) were pointing to a reconciliation of stake holders. I agree that was naive.

Obama's comments so far have alluded to being on the side of Shi'ite interests, which would result in a fully Shi'ite Iraq, possibly with a sovereign Curd nation, if I understand it correctly. Is that what you mean by "we already have."

No we have not taken sides, but if we start bombing we will.

We need to stay out of Iraq.

Guard our embassy and call it good.

Koan,
Who do you bomb? Do you want us to take sides?
In the case of Iraq, we already have.
