Larry, I don't think it costs any extra to make SDRAM. Die sizes
should be similar as should yields assuming that you build them on
the same process. The price difference is mostly related to supply
and demand. A reward to those who planned ahead and ordered their
SDRAM testers early.

Larry, The SDRAM price seems kind of high. $4.50 * 16 = $72 in parts
for a 32 Mbyte SDRAM DIMM. I can buy DIMMs locally for $76.00 in
quantity one (www.thechipmerchant.com). I think the chip cost must be
closer to $4.00,
