That happens to almost everyone.

Its a misnomer that there is no good music out there. There is ALWAYS good music out there. Its just hard to find a needle in an ever growing haystack. But its there if you spend the time to look.

Twas always thus.

You have to go to the music, it won't come to you. Miles Davis is a great example. He didn't play down, he raised your ears up.

Now for years I didn't listen to much Grateful Dead. Other things on my plate. But I always knew they had it. They don't have it every night, but when they are on they are ON. So a couple of years ago I decided to become educated on them.

And the COOL thing is you can download EVERY show they ever played from 1970 to the 1990s for free. Thousands from which to choose. Some of the recordings are extraordinary. Many of them are available at 24bit 48khz or better. I like about 25% of their repertoire... and only from certain shows. But like I said when they are good the are GOOD. Now if you can't find something good in that you need to get new ears. My snobby friends won't listen. Too bad for them.
