Re: France in WWII - You are grasping at straws and you know it. We were in war with Germany and France was under German occupation, hence we were at war with German controlled France.

Re: What Bush should have done was declare a victory and pull out in mid 2002 - So Bush was too dumb to do it and Obama did it instead. Why aren't you giving him credit for what Bush should have done and did not?

Re: we're a powerful country and will recover just like we did after Vietnam.- No arguments there. Although I have this to say, being strong can be a liability. I've been a consultant all my life and I have seen too many expensive bloated project by big companies. They were bloated because the corporation could afford to do what they should not have done in the first place or should have done it very differently. I've also seen small companies outdo companies 10x their size just because they could focus and execute flawlessly. There is something to be said about having a pain threshold.

BTW, outside of the stock market less than 10% of my assets are USD denominated. This has been the case for quite some time (an I said so in SI). You can do very well just by not paying the huge US asset tax in the form of devaluation. In a sign of times, now China is outsourcing to US...LOL!
