Good point.

You want to see how money in action works? Assist an older person who needs a new body part but when you are in the Dr. office, they discover the patient is not "a good candidate" for the expensive procedure (due to other health issues that make it dangerous.) I was with a women last week at a top hospital and the very nice and helpful MD visually shifted gears once he made the determination... he was nice and was clearly ready to move on.... I explained to the two women I was helping that he might get a few bucks from Medicare for the cortisone shot but a new knee might have been $10K in his pocket so he was naturally more inclined to move on to someone who he could "help more." Even the best, most polite MDs are influenced by huge costs to treat with procedures rather than keep people healthy in the first place...
