The Senate in 2014 will likely be a close thing... but I do believe that GOP will likely edge out a one or two seat gain over the 50/50 mark.

(Takes more than that to move legislation in the Senate though... it's not at all like the House. So, I expect a thin GOP majority in the Senate for two years to mainly be used as yet another big roadblock to legislation. Not much else. Mostly they will attempt to run out the clock on all things related to judicial appointments or other high profile confirmations.)

However, in 2016 I also expect the Senate to swing back over to Dem control, and with more substantial majorities then they have right now... largely because so VERY MANY of the Senate seats up for reelection then will have GOP defending in close States. A reversal, but more so, of this year's map.)
