I think the key is that the chief justice cannot block the court from taking on a case if a majority of justices want to take it on. Not at all like the US Congress, where the Speaker or Senate majority leader can completely block legislation.

They can't revisit a case? For some reason I have it in my mind that only the chief justice can call up cases, but that is probably wrong.

If we get another lib on the court I think they will immediately go after a whole host of their recent crazy decisions.
