Nixon had some pretty good ideas, for a paranoid amoral type of guy. He was much more progressive than Obama. Were it not for his EPA, our air would make China's look pristine. He also had the best health care plan, but couldn't pass it.

Socialism is what leads to the yawning inequality that is accelerating in this country. When you take from one man to give to another, you destroy the incentive to work for the man you take from. What is right and just is equality of opportunity, not equality of pay.

>Look at more advanced countries than ours. Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden. They have monster social programs: free education all the way to a PHD and even subsidies. Universal health care. They educate most of their population. Few rich or poor and a huge middle class. High taxes they use to manage society for the good of the majority.< They also use a tax base called VAT/GST where EVERYONE PAYS their share based on consumption. You get paid under the table in CASH. You still pay and the government collects taxes at the cash register. People want to be "Just like the those "Advanced Countries" with Monster Social Programs, but don't want the taxing policies, immigration policies, etc. which enables these "Advanced Counties" to provide it. You can't have your cake, and eat it too. PCSTEL
