True, but I think the legal system already has standards for determining whether one's religious or moral beliefs are genuine.

The way the left dismisses the beliefs of Hobby Lobby and other conscientious objectors to the contraception mandate is troubling to me. I'm more concerned about abuses on their part than the abuses on the part of fake believers.

Because to me, fake believers are easy to spot. Not only that, but we've dealt with them in the past.

However, the left's categorical dismissal of beliefs that they find to be "inconvenient" is a huge warning sign. They have the power to do a lot of damage if they get to arbitrarily determine which beliefs are "meaningless" in the context of their political agenda.
