History matters little at this point. It is the sociological manifestation (religious dogma impeding necessary sociological change) that exists at present that is the problem.

You did not really address the point that religious dogma is hard to change into secular democracy (especially in 7th century cultures) or sophisticated ideas necessary to save the earth from overpopulation, global warming and/or nuclear war.

And that is an issue we human must resolve if we are to survive.

What I described is very simple to understand and does not require one be particularly smart. It does require an open mind.

Your emotional state of mind on this subject really says it all.

You are a highly educated and bright man; and yet the subject at hand elicits great emotion from you.
To the point it is hard for you to discuss it in a deliberate manner.

Now imagine you are barely able to read or write and all you have is this religious culture that has been drummed into you from birth. Like the tribes people of Afghanistan, or worse Pakistan that has nuclear weapons.

Pretty hard to change those people, and if you try, the emotion you will elicit will be many times greater than yours as we see daily on our TV screens with huge mobs screaming ad yelling: "god is great" as they vent their anger at things they do not understand at all, with guns raised.
