I have probably been the most vocal on this thread about how we give a pass to the Muslim culture's treatment of women. It drives me nuts. What I was objecting to, is this habit, mostly engaged in by right wingers, to respond to a problem on their side by pointing to a problem on our side. What the Israeli people did to that kid is beyond the pale and stands on it's own. I don't care what anyone did as regards that issue. Responding to a comment on how bad it was, by talking about how bad the other side is, is inappropriate.
