HI Kirk,

I always flew Continental.

Continental had "one Pass rewards and kiosks that were very quick and faster than people at the desk.

I have many running friends who worked for Continental.

When they merged with United they lost many Continental employees No one wanted to move to Chicago from Houston.

United was way behind on the Kiosks and other software programs - part of the curse with employee owned.

Since the merger, airline rates have sky rocketed and the service has deteriorated.

Round trips from Houston to Milwaukee could be purchased in advance for $220 - $250.

They would run 4-5 regional jest every day and kept them full. Now $ 450 is a deal and half the flights - still full.

The death of a great airline.

I see the same thing going on with telecom and cable companies.

Fewer competitors equals higher prices.

Same thing has happened with Amat gobbling up vsea and Lrcx merging nvls.

Semi equipment companies have consolidated and become more profitable with flat production techniques.

I guess it is rational allocation of resources??
