I agree with all except I don't have to hide the Scotch since I gave up drinking 26 yrs ago and don't have much alcohol in the house but for gifts and cooking. It is very difficult to pick stocks as you can buy total USA and along comes a fund Manager from elsewhere and what happened to your selections. That is why so many people are looking at the indexes I think, after helping people for nearly 20 years and writing a newsletter for 16 years, the best part of picking individual stocks from my "Auto Buy and Auto Sell List" is it AUTOMATICALLY helps you take profits when the market is soaring and it helps prevent you from panicking out when it crashes as there are stocks on the list with very low buy prices you are hoping to get more of before the major bottom. You don't have to beat the indexes with this explore portfolio if it keeps you in the much larger core portfolios when the market is down. It is mostly psychology. This is long but an EXCEPTIONAL read. I saved it to my hard drive to look at in the future.
