Hardly. The hydrocarbons that could be transported via Keystone will simply be transported via some other means to some other location. Those hydrocarbons will be consumed and the associated CO2 will enter the atmosphere.

Killing Keystone is a feel good, but inconsequential policy.

If you consider the time necessary to implement an effective planetary policy, we are easily way past that point.

In Your opinion, When will an effective planetary solution be implemented?

My opinion is these Hydrocarbons will be consumed until nuclear fusion is widely available on a commercial scale. Apparently, this is a hard problem.

I was just in Piazza San Marco, Venice. They said it is very rare for the Piazza to flood, except during the winter. It flooded every night I was there in June. I suspect this is the new normal.
