yeah, they couldn't figure out an ad campaign that made it run faster.>>>

The above is my favorite for post of the day.

I don't know how many of the "new" people on this thread spouting the utility of backwards compatibility have thought of this, but it was discussed when the LS120, aka superdisk, aka a:drive went through its first, second and third attempts at marketing.

I have a zip and a 3.5 inch drive, how do I copy a file from the 3.5 inch to my zip? I stick in a zip disk, stick in the 3.5 disk and copy.

I have a backward compatible Sony HiFD and no 3.5 inch drive, how do I copy from the 3.5 inch disk to my HiFD disk. Well, I put in my 3.5 inch disk and copy the file to my hard drive, then I take out my 3.5 inch disk and put in my HiFD disk. Then I copy the file from my hard drive to my HiFD disk. then I remove the file from my hard drive.
Well there are dos commands and utilities that let you do it a little more simply than that but it still is more difficult than copying from the 3.5 inch straight to the zip.

Backward compatibility ain't all its cracked up to be.
