Did you ever read it?

First, it had nothing to do with his liberal ideology. But secondly, it was very simplistic -- something like a 10 page paper -- and really was not in any way ground breaking. In fact, it was essentially the same as what you'd do in a graduate managerial accounting or microeconomics course.

Very unimpressive. I'm not sure why anyone would have deemed it worthy of a major award of any kind. It wasn't revolutionary, regardless of what they say.

Nobel 2008 was awarded to Paul Krugman "for his analysis of trade patterns and location of economic activity"
That boob made some legitimate observations about changes in trade patterns that had occurred since Ricardo. As near as I know he didn't explain why. His work there was probably worth light applause. Most of his blabber since has been worse than worthless.

As to Nobel prizes, the nominating committee is largely made up of people who confuse their hopes and intuitions with subjective reality.
